So I have strep throat. My throat has been on fire since Wednesday but I really haven't had time to think about it, so I just plowed through the days sucking on lozenges and drinking tea. But last night, when I finally slowed down, I realized that it was actually unbearable and went to the clinic at about 10pm. My suspicions were confirmed by the doctor and so, here I am, in bed on a Saturday when there are about 800 things I need to be doing. Instead, I'm watching Waiting to Exhale on Bravo, which I haven't seen since it came out in 1995. On the upside, sitting here, in my pjs ,watching a chick flick at 10am on Saturday is like a mini-vacation...sandpaper throat and all.

Whew!
The ladies of MamaLaw have something big in the works. Stay tuned for a very special announcement tomorrow. In the meantime, we're working our tushies off so my apologies for not posting. I'll still put up a Daily Shoe though. I mean, nothing's more important than shoes.

Walk Jog Run *Pant*
My sister is training for a half-marathon and runs a silly amount of miles multiple times a week. She tried to get me out "running" with her over the weekend. I went twice and I am already worn out. To be clear - she runs. I do the walk-run-jog thing. And trust me, it's enough. This morning I read in February's Washington Parent that medical professionals recommend that women wait 2.5 to 3 years in between having babies so that their bodies have a chance to heal. Aha! That explains it. I've had 3 babies in 4 years. No wonder I'm a walking wreck. I have to admit though, that exercising outdoors is invigorating and now that it's warming up, it's even better. So I'm going to try to keep the walking-running-jogging up (as long as my joints will let me).

Working the Work Trip
I have to fly to Seattle for work in a couple of weeks. When i first found out about the trip, I was a bit bummed since I am going to be away from my family for a good 4 days. But my sister pointed out that it will be a mini-vacation for me since I'll be able to sleep in, read books and magazines uninterrupted, enjoy leisurely meals...so now my perspective has totally changed! I may even throw in a spa treatment somewhere in there. Hmmm...working may not be so bad after all.
