I Never Thought I'd Say This
But how sweet is George Bush Sr.?? I caught the piece on the Today Show this morning of him at the press conference after Barbara Bush's heart surgery this week and watched it half-dressed for work with my hands on my cheeks, floored. While he started out the press conference in true husband fashion by ribbing her for having a pig's valve in her chest, he ended up breaking down and crying because he was overcome with emotion at how nervous he was that his beloved wife was undergoing major surgery. It was so touching. And to top it off, NBC put together a little montage of their love story: meeting over 60 years ago, getting secretly engaged, the wedding, his love letters to her - it was like a real-life fairytale. Hopefully what we saw was genuine and, if he really loves her like that behind closed doors, then - wow - Barb is a very lucky lady.

That is so funny - i had EXACTLY the same reaction. I said to DH, isn't he so sweet. And he is like, "WHAT??**#"
